Unlike before, IIT(ISM) intakes nearly 1000 students every year in the first year undergraduate B.Tech. program through JEE. At present, for teaching first year students, eight (08) classrooms are engaged to accommodate all first-year students. Moreover, more than four (04) faculties are to be engaged to teach every course of first-year entrants. The scarcity of large classrooms to accommodate first year students is leading to non-optimal utilization of available resources. There is an urgent need for mega smart classrooms to teach first year students.
The centenary building is proposed to host two (02) mega smart classrooms each having a seating capacity of 550-600 students. The smart classrooms will have the state-of-art features with modern audio-video systems with LED Screens, Smart boards, and Projectors.
Budget: Rs. 6 Crores/- (Rs. 3 crores/- for each mega smart classroom)
