Basant is the official alumni reunion of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. The reunion is one of the most emotional times of the institute’s calendar as the batch that had passed out 50 years back returns to the campus to reminisce about their old college memories. In order to make Basant memorable, the institute’s cultural clubs organize various cultural programs for the alumni, like Kavi Sammelan. Many indoor and outdoor sports activities are also organized. Various charitable events take place at the campus, along with the presentation of projects which can be supported by the alumni. The annual ISMAA meet is held during the same time wherein chairholders, budget, awardees and objectives are decided for the upcoming year.
Annual Alumni event of IIT(ISM), was held from 06 Feb 2022 on a virtual platform. The agenda of the event was limited to the conferment of the Distinguished Alumnus Award – 2021 and the Basant Samman - 2022. Distinguished Alumnus Awards were conferred to the distinguished alumni who achieved milestones in their respective fields.
Annual Alumni event – BASANT- of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad was organized on 07 Feb 2021 on a virtual platform due to COVID-19 pandemic conditions. The agenda of the event was limited to the conferment of the Distinguished Alumnus Award – 2020 and the Basant Samman - 2021. Distinguished Alumnus Awards were conferred to selected distinguished alumni who have achieved milestones in their respective fields.
The batch of 1960 and 1970 participated as special guests during the event. The event received all the praise from the diamond and golden jubilee batch. General Body meeting of IIT (ISM) Alumni Association was also held during the event. Basant Samman and distinguished alumnus awards were conferred on the distinguished alumni who achieved milestones in their respective fields.
Basant-2019, annual event of IIT(ISM), was held in Feb -2019. Golden Jubilee Batch of 1969 participated as special guests during the event. The event received all the praise from the golden jubilee batch. General Body meeting of IIT(ISM) Alumni Association was also held during the event. Basant Samman were given to distinguished alumni who achieved milestones in their respective fields.
Basant - 2016, saw the arrival of the Golden Jubilee batch of 1966 for a nostalgic reunion. The institute welcomed alumni of the same batch who came to attend the get-together from all across the globe. They were briefed about the happening around the institute and the group engaged in fun activities and entertaining programs.
