In the current scenario of the world, terms like 'energy crisis', 'sustainable development', and 'exhaustible resource depletion' are no longer exclusive to the scholars of these domains. These dynamic concepts, born out of concern for the environment and its depleting natural resources in the last quarter-century, hold huge significance and relatability in today’s economy. Keeping these very crucial points as our utmost priority, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is proposing a new centre named Centre for Earth, Energy and Environment Research, abbreviated as CEEER. It shall be established to undertake research and innovation in the interlinked fields of earth science, energy, and environment; laying special emphasis on energy extraction with minimal environmental footprints. CEEER lab will be introduced as an aid to the Indian energy sector to comprehend the earth’s processes, energy systems, pollution management and mitigation, resource management, and also the effects of the global temperature change. Working closely with the industry, this project aims to improve the institute's international standing in these fields.
